Journaling Template

Here is a high level journaling template. You can modify to your needs as the Holy Spirit directs you.

High Level Template

Please keep aside about 20 minutes around the same time every day.  Choose a comfortable spot.  Please do not be too rigid about these suggestions.  Pray to the Holy Spirit and ask for forgiveness so we become worthy to be in His presence.  Read today’s mass readings (5 Minutes)  Make sure you have the journal binder or book with you.

Start with the Search Me section of your journal.  Below, I have provided some suggested Bible verses that I got from a book on journaling.  Write the verse in your journal or the at least the book and the verse number (ex: Psalm 51) .  Write down whatever the Holy Spirit inspires you to write. (5 minutes).

Then, move on to Praise the Lord and Thank Him for His gifts.  Train yourself to think through the previous day.

The third step is to get intimate with Jesus by praying for others.  A suggestion list is provided below.

The Fourth step is a freestyle prayer.  This is almost like the third step but less structured.

I no longer call you servants, becasue a servant does not know his master’s business.  Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. – John 15:15
