How to Deepen Your Faith?
Learn to spend more time with God and keep track of what He saysYou are a mystery as deep as the sea; the more I search, the more I find, the more I search for you. But I can never be satisfied; what I receive will ever leave me desiring more. When you fill my soul I have an even greater hunger, and I grow more famished for your light/ I desire above all to see you, the true light, as you really are. — St. Catherince of Siena
A complacent religious belief does not guarantee a deeper conviction in faith. It is important to realize that all religious activities must lead us close to Jesus. Sometimes I catch myself focussing on the rituals and forget the purpose of the rituals.
I think the easiest way to retrain our rationalistic religious ritualistic view and have a more practical view of our faith is to relate our day to day activities to God. When we surrender our daily experiences to God, He helps us view them with correct perspective and helps us understand their significance in our lives. This can be achieved by “Examen”. This, when practiced on a daily basis, improves our relationship with God, Our relationship with ourselves, our relationship with the things of the world and our relationship with other people.
Symbolon
Symbolon is an excellent program provided by Augustine Institute’s Formed.org website. Our parish has subscribed for it. Please join us in watching the episodes and discuss the topics provided by them.
We also sing, pray and socialize. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to become part of this great community of prayer warriors. You will find a new meaning to your life. You will become part of the disciples Jesus called us all to be.
