Jesus shocked many of his contemporaries by referring to God as a Father who desires as intimate relationship with us. Not only did he call God His Father but encouraged his followers to call God “Father.” Why do you think Jesus used the term “father”, as opposed to “mother”, or a gender-neutral term? What does God’s fatherhood mean to you?
