She inherits her place at the King's right hand.  She is "His second." The King will listen to her in a special way because she is His mother.

To bring this to our modern day families, I can easily relate to this in my own family.  As a kid, when I really, really wanted something, I would talk to my mom first.  I knew well that she had my dad's ear and could present the issue to him in a way that I, as the child, never could.  My brother and I were raised that my dad's decision was "the law."  He was the head of the house.  There was no whining; however, we knew we could make a case with our mom.  She would listen to us and, if she agreed with us, would figure out how to convince my dad to see things her way.

We approach our Heavenly Mother with our wants and needs.  She will then intercede/talk to her Son, the King, and if our request is aligned with His Will, He will grant the request, albeit in His Time, not ours.  We may not even see the results of our requests, but again, if aligned, they will come to pass.

My mom never saw my return to our faith; I know she prayed for her family when she was with us.  I like to think that she knows that her prayers bore fruit for she now has a daughter who not only returned to our faith, but has returned with no looking back.  I continue her work by praying for my dad, brother, and son.
