Dr. Sri says it is fitting that Mary would be first to be assumed into heaven, body and soul, after
Christ’s resurrection. What did Dr. Sri mean by this?

I can't get into Dr. Sri's head, but I would interpret the statement by saying that Mary was the perfected new Ark of the Covenant. She was the First Apostle; she was without sin.
