There is a saying: “God writes straight with crooked lines.” What do you think that means?

@deaconrajan - I think it means that God, in His Perfection, can make all things perfect.  He uses our input, which is imperfect (crooked lines) to accomplish His Perfect Will.

I think the Paschal proclamation says it best:

“O truly necessary sin of Adam, which the death of Christ has blotted out! O happy fault that merited such and so great a Redeemer!”

This is, I suppose, the Church’s way of saying what you said, Karen.

Romans 8:28 also applies to this:

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

Also the story of Joseph in Genesis points this out too, when Joseph points out to his brothers after they are reunited “What you intended for evil God worked for good, that God exalted me, as you can see, to save many people”. Genesis 50
