By Genesis 22, the promised son has been born and has become a young man. All the hopes of God's covenant lie on Isaac. Read this chapter carefully and answer the following questions

a. At the beginning of this chapter, the author says that God tested Abraham.  what kind of test was it?  Is there any way in which this test is similar to the test of Adam and Eve?

Does Abraham pass the test? what is the result?

In Genesis 15, Abraham's faith in God's promise to give him descendants as numerous as the stars was exhibited in his belief.  Now he is being asked to prove that belief by acting on it.  Read CCC 143-147 and 154-155 as well as James 2:14-23.  What is the relationship between obedience and faith?
