In Genesis 3:4, the serpent calls God a liar - "You will not die", he says - and proceeds to tell the woman why it will be to her benefit to disobey God. Do these benefits offer Eve anything she doesn't already have? what do they offer?

It gave her an illusion that she will become as powerful as God
