What does religion mean to you?

To me religion is an organized group of people who may come from different walks of life but believe in the same set of doctrines.  Religion provides broad guidelines to follow so the worship doesn't become chaotic.  So, while in the context of a community, it is good to follow a prescribed ritual.  However, when spending time alone with God, one can use his or her method.

I just read my previous response.  That seems pretty shallow.  I watched the first episode again just now.  Religion is a construct that helps me to understand the purpose of my life.  Why am I here on earth?
