Before invading Jericho, Joshua sends in two men to spy on the land. They are taken in and kept safely hidden by a woman named Rahab. What is Rahab’s occupation, where does her name appear in the Gospel of Matthew, and how might she signify who can be part of God’s plan for salvation? (See Josh 2:1, Mt 1:5)

She was a prostitute. In the gospel of Mathew 1:Salmon and Rahab are the parents of Boaz, many generations later came Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Of her was born Jesus who is called the Messiah.
