While giving orders to his officers, Joshua reminds them that they are entering the land that God had promised them through Moses (Josh 1:13). Why is this land a marvelous gift from God within the region? (See Josh 1:4, Points to Ponder) How would this land later become important on a spiritual level? (See CCC 1220, Mt 28:19–20)

God wanted them to and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit. He also promised to be with them until the end of the age.
